Town Hall of Adeje

www.adeje.es

The municipality of Adeje develops actions to raise awareness, increase sensibility and to change attitudes towards the environment.

It acts in favour of the protection, ordering and use of the land in a sustainable way, in order to:

- Generate a greater knowledge and appreciation of biodiversity and its conservation, improving coexistence between society and nature.

- Improve the local population’s quality of life, and specially, the local economy of the regions located close to natural surroundings.

As part of the Treemac Project, the Town Hall of Adeje will be funding the ‘Adeje Central Park,’ an initiative that centres on a plot of land covering 32,000 m2 divided into two large spaces: one covering 27,700 m2 of green areas and a further 4,600 m2 with different services and a wide range of leisure options.

The park will also feature a wetland lake, semiaquatic plants, palm trees, horticultural products, fruit trees and Canary, tropical and semitropical trees.

The park’s green areas will be self-sufficient, as its woodland area will be ecological and food-productive. The park will be a diverse ecological site, engaging in analogous floristry, agro-forestry and permaculture techniques that will address solutions concerning mitigation and adaptation to climatic change and its carbon sink qualities.
